We’re here for the zippy, quirky illustrated, joy of a story! This author is well known for her gloriously memorable stories filled with adventure and family. This new series is no different! Leading us through lesson after lesson, we’re faced with how the characters are learning, growing, and building. Her creativity to describe the world is mesmerizing. This is most definitely a must read.

This glorious space odyssey of a story gave us every dystopian craving we needed. Right off the bat I loved the characters we were introduced to and it was fun figuring out exactly where they belonged and what parts they’d play. I’ll have to say I was surprised with a twist the author gives us but it equally added to the story and makes you root for the cause! The artwork sent by our sweet author is stunning and captures exactly what I pictured.

Thank you NetGalley!

I absolutely enjoyed every second of this comedic parody of a collection. It had me laughing with every turn of the page. I never expected what each one would bring, it was very unpredictable but in the best of ways! Now I need to go back and see everything written by him immediately!

Thank you Simon & Schuster and the author!

Absolutely floored with how much I loved this book! Magical realism is one of my favorites and this didn’t disappoint AT ALL. Shoving it full of western-ized Odyssey vibes and a story based loosely off our authors ancestors. They’ve completely reimagined what it is to be a book classified as this one is. We touch on very real topics and I loved that they were continuous themes throughout. The colonialism and racism being a very important part. While this book was short I think it did everything it was hoping to do and more! I think my only complaint is I would have liked to read more I think! If you want unique character adventure and a quest for family this is definitely for you!

This one was a flabbergasting mix of a horror movie turned even worse and a hunger games vibe. Neither bad things! There were a few small technical issues but I think even with, the story was fun and gore-y. Plus I really liked the art style!

This topic means a lot to me and I’m so happy to read a book that FINALLY portrays a teen abortion as NOT something she’s not ready for, that’s it’s agonizing, terrible, abhorrent. Our main character is ready, firm, prepared, and doesn’t regret it. This books purpose seeming to show that abortion is more common place than people like to believe. That it has always been here and always SHOULD be. The town turning on her was quite intense and I think more of a metaphor for how quick people are to turn on something they don’t believe in even if it’s to someone who did the best they could. Absolutely amazing read.
