This was a stunningly beautiful read with grief that holds no bounds. It’s a great discussion on how cancer takes a family and never gives it back, especially one that resurfaces back in her daughter.
It was emotional yet definitely shown a light in such a beautiful way! I definitely recommend this book! Grace Jacob’s was the Matriarch of her family and it’s hard to watch it all melt away as it takes her. And Donna omg, she had me absolutely furious at moments.
Thank you to the author and suzzy approved book tours!

A mind boggling read that’s going to take you on the twisted path we all walk, and sharply curve. It’s hard to not give anything away in this one but it was so beautiful the way the author incorporated the stories!
We start with a woman on her death bed, her husband next to her, and we transition very suddenly to a woman who is currently in childbirth. The interconnected lives are so emotionally written and the author did SUCH a good job keeping me guessing the entire time!

I received a copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book was mindbogglingly heartbreaking and tragic and a must-read all at once. It's definitely not an easy or light read based on the material. It's such an important subject to touch on and it's somehow not done nearly enough. I think the emotions this stirs up are something so many can relate to. Or at least know someone who will. That's the sad thing about it actually, that so many have felt the things written on these pages.
I consumed it quickly and am glad to add it to the list of things I'll always think about. The terrible fact it conveys is that women are abused and murdered daily and those who do anything against their tormentors always face consequences in some form or another. It might be seen or unseen but it always happens.

I’m really starting to say how much I looooove Cathy Yardley’s books! They’re like the first breath of fresh air and such a fantastic palate cleanser. I enjoyed the two main characters and how this was kinda their healing second chance at love that they weren’t searching for. That they’re in their lives and have lived through so much already, coming together was SO SWEET. Plus this book make me hungry the entire time I read it. All in all I’m excited to read more from the author and I definitely recommend this one.

I wouldn’t say this story is suppose to be sad and melancholic but I think those who know exactly what these kids/humans go through it can come across very knowing. We’ve all felt crushed. Overwhelmed. On the verge of thinking there’s nothing to fix it. And as kids it can feel even worse, like you’re this tiny person in a sea of people who aren’t paying attention.
I think this book had a lot of wise information and showed that you can take many many outlets to have yourself heard. I really enjoyed it but also hope eventually kids won’t have to feel the ways that are described in here. Definitely recommend.

I sweeeeear I must be entering my romcom era here because I really enjoyed this one!! I’m a bit picky on them because it’s not my usual genre but I keep being shown these KILLER ones and I’m so happy. This is my first book by the auntie and it really shown with her fun, quirky, expressive writing! I loved the characters so far and while this is fast paced and definitely steamy, there was still beautiful plot and such good little pieces of dialogue. I also enjoyed the more unique approach to the plot they made it feel so original for the same tropes others have. All in all I definitely recommend.

This was such a beautifully emotional yet warm and quirky read. The atmosphere throughout the entire book is so inviting, kinda cozy, and also informative! I was surprised to learn some things while enjoying how serene the cat was through the decades. The author has gorgeous writing and had me sobbing for the sweet cat. I definitely recommend! Not to mention it’s also Magical Realism which is one my favs!

Books like this are no joke! It brings such a strong and interesting voice to real life circumstances and history. This showed me things I never even knew about Argentina in the 1970s and I couldn’t not put it down. Political unrest after a dictatorship leaves so much unanswered and emotions are high. The author did a great job describing everything but also letting the reader follow along and make their own conclusions. Definitely give this one a try!
