This was a pirate's tale like no other! I have to say, I really enjoyed this one, and I wasn’t super sure at first. It was a lot more unique than I had expected, but that’s not a bad thing at all. I absolutely loved the sister dynamic and progression throughout the story for our two main characters, who are half-sisters. It was realistically shown, and through ups and downs, they still had each other’s backs. Lots of twists and gorgeous development not only with the plot but also with the characters. It was very high stakes, I want to say, and it shows. So if you’re looking for your next quick, intense "on the seas" read, this is for you!

Wow! This series is incredibly crazy and involved, but I love this magical, rich world. It took me a bit to catch up so I could understand what was happening, but I’m glad I did! I really enjoyed the twists this book took, and I love the writing style as well. I think if you’re looking to deep dive into a supernatural, magical society, this is definitely for you. It ties in with quite a few different books, so make sure to get the order right!

I reaaaaaaally thought this was a cute one. My first Max Monroe and I have to say I’m already really enjoying the very comedic, banter, rom com writing. I was surprised this took place in Vermont tbh but I loved the small quiet town aspect that hides all these characters with quirks and pasts. Norah was a sweet main character and after everything you really want her to just never go back to New York and just stay in the town forever. I’ll say I hoped for a bit more depth in the ✨romance✨ aspect but every other part had me absolutely tearing up and ready to rip my heart out, so it wasn’t a terrible trade off. Now I know to read more! These books with such laughable and heart wrenching circumstances are killing me but becoming a favorite.

A fantastically set gothic horror mixed with old century prose and evil fog lurking minds. Our main character Tempe is so woefully in charge of keeping what remains of her family afloat and becomes the new town Lamplighter. It’s a beautifully written story where every single thing shown means something more. You must be the constant lookout and dive the deep. I absolutely loved it.

Honestly this was NOT what I had expected when going into it. But that’s such a good thing! This was everyone’s perfect nostalgic YA post-apocalyptic dystopia with a little romance, fighting action, political turmoil, and divided factions. It read a little bit young for me but that’s not a rating reducer considering I’m no longer the age this probably appeals to, I think this book is absolutely fantastic as an introduction into this genre. The author still keeps it fresh and unique but plays to the readers emotions at the same time. I can definitely say this will be a favorite for a lot of people and that I SERIOUSLY recommend it. Plus the “video game” vibes are so fun and add a little bit of edge to the story for sure.

I really enjoyed just the entire aesthetic of this. Vampires are back and this book definitely ate it up. Not to mention heists?? Yes please. I thought Arthie was a great character and I loved her POV. I think the pacing takes some time to get use to and might be one of the downfalls when it came to the book. I didn’t mind the POV switching as much but I wanted to be focused on Arthie the entire time. Plus found family!!! I fall for it every time!
