Review is coming.

So I meant to write a review after letting the story rest for a day or two in my head, but I ended up reading the rest of the trilogy.

At this point I don't think I have the emotional capacity to write anything. All I can say is that people need to read this book! Like now!

This plot, the characters, the drama, the intrigue, the love and betrayal, the desire and pain all combine together to give you a masterpiece.

This series wasn't perfect. There were quite a few spelling and grammar errors (which I've heard have been fixed since), but for those of you who read this review, I want you to look past that and read the trilogy anyway. It has changed my life in a way I can't describe in words (this may also be because I just finished reading the last book an hour ago and my emotions haven't settled yet). Whether or not you think this book will be life changing, take a gamble and try it anyway. You'll be surprised to read something so different from any other young adult fantasy book.

Please. Read.

Overall rating of trilogy: 4.5/5 stars

Look who finally got around to reading this??!!! Okay, so where do I start?

Let's talk about the world building! This book is filled with little Easter eggs for all of you Greek and Roman mythology lovers - my inner nerdiness was squealing throughout the book! But even if you're completely new to all of this, Rick Riordan does an excellent job of quickly summarizing the stories of the different gods and heroes. I loved how the seat of Zeus' power follows wherever the height of western civilization is! It's honestly such a unique concept and makes so much sense based off of classical history. I also loved how places like Olympus and the Underworld are hidden right in front of all the humans! It reminded me of Harry Potter and Hogwarts and the Ministry of Magic :)

As for the characters, I loved all of them! Grover was me in the literal and practical sense. I mean who doesn't dream about food? Annabeth was just a perfect character - strong, ambitious, intelligent. Percy was absolutely hilarious! I love how he challenges authority and isn't afraid to speak his mind. They're an excellent trio and do kind of remind me of Harry, Ron and Hermione but in a good, warm feeling way!

Not sure what else to say. I wasn't totally expecting the ending - I love when a book can surprise you! I've seen the movie, but I think I blocked it all out because it's literally the WORST BOOK TO MOVIE ADAPTATION EVER CREATED! They skipped a whole section of the book and messed a whole lot of the characters and it just sucked! But let's not talk about that.

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Can't wait to read the next books in the series!
