The Hockey Saint values the importance of friendship between main character Tom Leonard and hockey legend, Jeremiah Jacobson. Jacobson is also a hockey saint as he is charitable, good-natured, and an all-around good man in the public eye. However, Jacobson struggles with the pressures of stardom and turns to alcohol to relieve some of that stress.
One of the main issues I had with this novel is the writing style. I didn’t like the way that conversations were conveyed with no indication of who the speaker is at the moment. At first, I thought the novel was in verse because of the layout. Then, I realized that it’s a novel with graphics conveying some scenes. It is different and took some getting used to.
The second thing I didn’t really enjoy were the character’s themselves. Although there is heavy content involved, I didn’t feel any empathy for Jeremiah. I think it was the execution coupled with the writing style that fell flat for me.

A fast-paced adventure to a magical land, The Music Box is a beautiful tale of mystery, friendship, and love. The story of Nola is accompanied by vibrant art that intricately describes a story of a girl who finds solace in a magical land after the death of her mother. What I liked most about The Music Box was how the story approached adult themes like death and love. At the beginning, Nola is extremely saddened over her mother absence on her birthday, but by the end those feelings change, depicting character growth over the course of the story.
I loved that the music box was the portal to the magical land of Pandorient; it was familiar yet different. I also really enjoyed how concise and fast-paced the novel was! I read the graphic novel in an hour or two, and was completely mesmerized by Nola's adventure through Pandorient as she helps an old family friend, unbeknowest to her.
I want to know more about Pandorient as this first novel establishes a bit of world-building, but there is definitely an opportunity to expand more of it. I really hope that there are more books in this series because I cannot wait to read more of Nola's adventures to Pandorient.

What an adventure! Wow. So after 6 years I finally managed to tackle this series down!
The ending was bittersweet. A lot of death occurred in the last two books; death that I was not expecting. My heart broke for Ren in this last installment. I wish Calla could have made a choice, but it seems that it was made for her.
I loved Connor and Adne a lot in this last installment. I also loved the growth in Sabine’s character.
All in all, this is a fun series! Some themes are problematic, especially when it comes to women empowerment, but I believe that it gets better in the final book.

OMG WUT. WHAT DOES THE ENDING MEAN? Please leave your theories down below.
I loved this so much. This was dark and painful and heartbreaking but also so beautiful, immersive, captivating.
I need a moment to calm my racing thoughts.
If you haven’t read it, DO IT. You won’t be disappointed.

A fun, witty, and adventurous spin on a beloved classic!
I adored this and laughed SO MUCH at the references delicately places throughout the novel. I loved the ending - it was sweet and had a HEA just as the first Jane retelling.
I highly recommend and cannot wait until my best friend gets her hands on this so we can fangirl together :P
