A beautifully illustrated fairytale retelling of one girl's quest to get back Sunday.

I really enjoyed how the story flowed, from the way it is depicted on the page to the pacing. The colors are also beautiful, with muted tones to signify a world that is rundown by work to bright tones when the importance of rest is portrayed. Nina is spunky, helpful, and emphatic to those around her. She is a heroine you are rooting for, and ecstatic for when her hard work pays off.

It's a classic tale with a modern twist ripe for a new generation.
dark mysterious tense fast-paced

The ending was a "what the f***" moment 😳

Are monsters created?

At the center of Horror Movie, we have this question in the back of our minds lingering like a sharp claw caressing the walls of our sanity, begging to be torn down. It is eerie, confusing, and oh so deliciously unreliable. I was completely FLOORED by the ending, and I audibly gasped.

I may have to revisit this one in the future. I listened to the audiobook which added an unsettling atmosphere with its ambience and full cast narration we only hear during the "then" timeline.

This is my first Paul Tremblay book (I KNOW) and it definitely won't be my last!

A modern take on the classic African trickster story.

Way Off Track weaves culture seamlessly in a story of Nansi vying for the best sneakers on the market in order to be the fastest runner in the world. Readers will relate to Nansi who is funny, inventive, and competitive. But she is not without faults and through some hard truths, she learns that she can truly succeed if she works hard for her dreams.

A very cute manga where two beautiful ethereal-esque students strike a deal to keep their true selves hidden from everyone else.

Fall in Love, You False Angels is a fast-paced read centering Otogi x Toki who have a quiet and beautiful disposition at school, but secretly have a tough exterior that is severely underestimated. I really liked to see the progression of Otogi's x Toki's relationship; little by little they find more time to spend with one another. The scene with Toki's big brother was really sweet and showed a different side of him to Otogi. I also really liked how Otogi's heart is pictured throughout the manga, how we can see and FEEL how Toki affects her.

It's a pretty solid manga with an ending promising more!

K. Woodman-Maynard visually depicts a stunning and faithful adaption to a beloved classic.

I can't believe it's been 50 years since we've had Tuck Everlasting in our literary landscape. I've read this story 3 times; once in my teens, later in my 20s, and once more in my 30s in the form of this graphic novel. I didn't expect it to emotionally hit me as much as it did. But the epilogue ... as I write I am overwhelmed with emotion and the weight of choosing to live life as Winnie had. It's such a beautiful story that is translated well to a graphic novel format for a new generation to know, to philosophize, and to keep alive.
