At first, the story took a little while to hold my attention, but gradually I found myself completely captivated by both the story and the feelings between the characters. I'd still advise you to read the trigger warnings carefully, as there are some pretty harsh subjects (violence, slavery, etc.). I'll definitely be reading the 2nd book when it's published!

This second book is really shaking my nerves... I sometimes had to slow down my reading because I feared what would happen! The writing is very good and the story is easy to jump into. Now I can't wait for book 3 to be published!!!! 

I really enjoyed this original story and can't wait to discover what will happen to Ken, Connor and Lin in the second book. This book is beautifully written (maybe just too much details for my aphantasia's mind but still very well written). 

This second book is mainly focused on the love story but I really liked it as there are still a lot of twists and turns to make it so... real! I've read it in 2 days (instead of my usual 2 weeks for 1 book!) because I couldn't wait to know what would happen to the main characters... and I wasn't disappointed! It's really a wonderful duology that I would definitely recommend from now on!

I absolutely LOVED this story! It's a lot of my favorites : magic, (impossible) love, tension, loveable characters with dark past... I'm so happy I chose to finally read this book and I'll definitely read Rebel Witch next! 

I'm really surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. The story is very original, but it's the characters that make it unique. I've never come across such special ones, and I loved it! I took off 1 star not because of the quality of the writing or the story itself, but simply because I found the narrative a little slow for my taste... but that's really just a personal opinion!

I loved every book I've read written by Ali Hazelwood and this one is no exception... with a little "plus" thanks to the fantasy vibe that is definitely my favorite vibe.

I would definitely give a 5 stars for the writing and the originality of the story! I gave only 4 stars because it wasn't to my taste but I can really understand why so many people love this book! 

I can't get enough of Violet... Xaden... Tairn... Andarna... Ridoc... and all those amazing characters who made me laugh (OK... especially Ridoc) and cry too many times in this book! I'm still in love with this universe and the story that I can't wait to discover when the sequel will be published... definitely a torture to wait now... I'm not made to suffer that much Miss Yarros! Be nice with my poor heart and accelerate time so I can heal from all this pain quickly ❤️ 

I jumped into this book without any clues about the story as I had it on my TBR for a little too long... and that may have been my mistake as I wasn't expecting to be so moved by Elizabeth's story... so many fights with as many losses... what a journey she went through and... it felt so real... sadly! I loved every page of that book even if it broke my heart.
