This book should absolutely be read alongside the album. The book benefits from the music and the music benefits from the illustrations. Experienced together, the story is much more powerful.

This should not be the only thing that a kid reads to learn about Chanie Wenjack and the residential schools but it is a great starting point.

I love this book!

The illustrations are phenomenal. The little critters in the dark are so cute and it’s fun looking for them in the pictures.

The story is lovely. It is essentially a mini biography about Chris Hadfield that encourages children to be brave and go after their dreams. A heartwarming lesson than anyone can get behind while also teaching children about an important figure in Canada’s scientific history.
