I'm not feeling this book right now and want to focus on other things. I will be trying this book again sometime in the future.

The author used really strange analogies in an attempt to describe paleontology that was off-putting somehow. When I reached a section first comparing a prehistoric creature to a lean, greyhound dog I had a good image in my head. He then went on to describe the same creature as 'like an emaciated model'. That's where I drew the line.

Had to set the book down to focus on other life things - I'll be starting from the beginning when I pick it back up.

I didn't enjoy the 'retellings' of the classic fairy tales. It felt a bit strained trying to make the content ultra-adult and I wasn't enjoying the lesser known fairytales that were quite prevalent content in this collection.

I didn't like the format of the book. The sections interspersing the graphic novel portions always felt incredibly dense. I'm also not a huge fan of most superhero content so I didn't get into the story much.

The book wasn't capturing my attention at this point so I returned it to the library early (there was also a waitlist so I didn't want to hold up others).

The narrator of the audiobook version I was listening to was very flat and made the book more more of a slog than the interesting content deserved, but I had to put it down.

Attempted a re-read of the book. Was no longer interested in the story.
