utterly speechless

This follows a middle school boy who gets bullied, and a friend he makes who is also bullied. It highlights the different perspectives people can have on life and the reason behind their actions - or inactions. It also touches on development at that age and the impact a friend / family / adults can have on kids growing up. A big theme in this was “having strength in weakness”

I enjoyed this book although it was hard to read at some parts because it’s so sad and graphic, and I try to avoid thinking about my middle school years at all costs

honestly not a lot of plot but the banter?
dark emotional mysterious medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: N/A
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

this was iconic. also, we love a safe word around here🫶
