well that was knot what i thought it would be! seriously, not a single rope involvedđ anywayyys, wow, i devoured this book. I love the way this was written. Every part was engaging, loved the humor, and i felt i could connect with the characters. i love a little mystery and when i get led to form a few theories while reading, and while there were no huge surprises, there were still some plot twisty moments at the end that made me want to throw my book across the room, which we love. i had a lot of fun reading this so it gets a 4.5đș/5 from me! also love how the queen still managed to bring STEM into a paranormal romanceđ

wanted to love this for the single dad & age gap tropes but Cade just gave me the ick. especially his pov of Willa. like whoooo is about to nut in their pants just from seeing someone in a coffee shop? iâm sorry? i was cringing the whole time. i shouldâve DNFâd but i am -motivated- to finish this series. the one redeeming factor was Willa and (the son) Lukeâs relationship

âitâs okay to not like a bookâ - me, to myself.
i loved the vibes, mystery, and spice. and thatâs about it. i didnât love how the plot , world, and characters were developed. i didnât love the info dump, cliche, wrapped-up-with-a-bow-on-top ending that we got no foreshadowing of. if the antagonist has a monologue explaining why and how theyâre responsible for all the bad things in the ending, then to me thatâs lazy writing. (im not a writer, i couldnât do it better, but i expect better.) the insta-lust. the trope-iness without substance to back it up. my feelings are mixed on how mental health was handled, it is always nice to see representation and it was okay for the most part but suicide was brought up and i donât think it was handled well at all. the writing was so flowery and repetitive, just paragraphs and paragraphs of metaphors that it felt forced. and im a flowery person.
the singular good quote I pulled:

âIf this is madness,â she whispered almost against his lips, âdrown me in it.â
