I definitely liked this the least of the series, but the first one is a close second. I only really liked Dani’s story to be honest. This wasn’t bad per say, I just didn’t really feel chemistry between our two mcs. The smut was hot tho?
*2.5
This was literally just the entire miscommunication trope in 300 pages and it was highly annoying. But the smut was rrly hot and I’m in such a big reading slump rn /:

The hero was such an asshole in the beginning, and I feel like these two characters didn’t have enough chemistry for me to believe they were in love by the end. Probably would have DNF’ed if I didn’t own this.

I liked this a lot less than TOG. I just think SJM is not the author for me

I really wanted to like this book—especially since it was one of my most anticipated releases of the year—but unfortunately I just don’t think this author is for me. All complaints I had about Safts debut, Down Comes The Night were still heavily prevalent in her sophomore novel. Although Saft is a very atmospheric and metaphorical writer, her pacing, world building, & relationship building need a lot of work; which were my main complains about her debut.
I also felt, that despite being halfway through this book, these characters had no chemistry. It just wasn’t there, and combined with the slow pace, I unfortunately am gonna have to DNF this one ):

This was short and pretty simple, but I really enjoyed this. The hero was literally so in love with our heroine, it was absolutely adorable. If you want pining and angst but condemned to about 200 pages, read this.
Don't you just love when you get the chance to fuck your ex-boyfriend's dad? Me too.
