I’m not really liking. One of my mutuals said this is a “Walmart One Tree Hill” and I totally agree with that. The writing seems fine, but these characters aren’t very compelling. Just gonna dnf

I’ve been wanting to read Lenora Bell forever, so I’m really glad I’ve finally gotten the chance to do it. What a Difference a Duke Makes was a really cute, fun, and light-hearted historical with some really beautiful prose, and a very likeable cast of characters. I loved the banter between the mc’s, and I absolutely adored the hero’s two children. With all that being said, this definitely won’t be my last read from this author, because I’m really not kidding when I say her writing was stunning. You know that one Lady Gaga meme where she’s just spouting out positive words? That’s exactly what I was thinking of the whole time reading this book.

So despite the face-value reused plot, Lenora Bell’s writing really saved this story from becoming a complete cliché. It wasn’t very historically accurate, and the book did have its flaws, but I still really enjoyed reading this one. I definitely recommend for an easy and entertaining read, and I can definitely see Lenora Bell becoming a new fave author for me!

A very very funny and campy paranormal romance type-parody with some surprisingly good writing, likeable leads, and a nonsensical plot (in the best way possible.) Not Another Vampire Book really captures that feeling of reading a trashy paranormal romance, and this one actually has decent writing to go along with it; you love to laugh at how cheesy the story is, but you’re also usually really rooting for the romance and the characters.

The story follow our heroine, Karalynn, an editor for her small family publishing company. When she’s forced to edit a terribly written historical paranormal romance book, Kara accidentally gets transported inside the book. Except, Kara accidentally changes the entire plot of the book, and is forced to find a way back home and get the book back on track. It doesn’t help she’s majorly attracted to the supposed villain of the story, Damien, who’s a Wizard Warlock who’s vowed to do whatever it takes to get his revenge on the Vampires for killing his entire race.

Now, I know that sounds ridiculous, and it absolutely 100% was. But it really was ridiculous in the best way possible. I was honestly, and unironically, considering giving this book 5 stars up until about the 60% mark. Unfortunately after that, I felt this dragged a little too much (despite the length being quite short anyways). The final climax scene was unnecessarily long, which was definitely the authors intent, but a little bit of a slog to get through, and involved me skimming quite a bit. Still, this is a really solid and fun book, and despite how corny it was, I still actively was rooting for the main couple couple, and cheered when they got together. Also, this book had an absolute top tier spice scene between the main couple, I was gagged.

Anyways, this is my second Cassandra Gannon book, and I think while definitely similar to the first I read from her, it was still really well done. I will definitely be reading more from her in the future.

Unironically this sounds so good

I adore this series sm — RTC

Boring. That’s like the only word I have for this book. After my disappointment of the first book in this series, I decided that I would go into the second one with lord expectations (even though people have said this series gets progressively better). I rated book one 3.5 stars. I liked this book a lot less, mainly because I just didn’t care. These characters were not compelling, the plot was boring and very dragged out, and the miscommunication between the MC’s killed almost all of my enjoyment.

I don’t think I’m going to continue on with the next book or the rest of the series. This book was just honestly a let down of already low expectations, and I feel like this series is just not for me.

STOP because why was this so fucking good??? Like, I must be just trash atp because I ATE this entire book up. The angst, the pining, the tension, the smut, and Jordan. I literally loved this book so much idec. I also always thought I disliked age gap, but this was so hot. I NEED to own this book. Ok I’m done embarrassing myself now, just ignore this 5 star rating and leave me to my smut.

ON HOLD FEB 2024

I’m not in the mood to read Christmas books anymore

ON HOLD FEB 2024

I’m ashamed to say that I still have no finished this book, and I’m kind of thinking that the time to read this has passed me. I was obsessed with the OG books in 2018/2019 when I was in 6th grade, but I really just don’t have that same love for this series anymore. I wish I read this book when it came out because I knew I would have loved it, but I unfortunately didn’t. I loved this movie, it’s probably one of my new favorites, but I don’t really have much of a desire to read this book atm. I may come back to it someday, but atp I have so many other books I’d rather get to in my uncompletable tbr.

So, my clown ass didn’t finish this book last night or today (didn’t even break 100 pages ☠️☠️☠️), but I did see the movie with my best friend and sister and it was absolutely fantastic. So I’m desperately wanting to finish the book now, hopefully I’ll be able to finish tomorrow

I feel like I just picked this up at the wrong time, but I wasn’t enjoying it while I was reading. I started skimming parts, and I’ve just decided I’m gonna try another one of this authors books (since I’ve been eyeing them for awhile) and came back to this one if I like another. I liked the writing, so hopefully it was just a wrong time type of thing!
