So I’m back on getting through my Black Widow read (with some rereads sprinkled throughout), and this for me was a first time read. I absolutely loved this so much. I didn’t even read the beginning 20 issues in this volume (which I will be doing once I read up to issue 50) or Civil War, and this is still one of my favorite comics I’ve read.

This is definitely centered more around the Death of Captain America (obviously), but that didn’t really bother me as much as I thought it would. There were a good amount of Winterwidow moments sprinkled throughout, and a heavy dose of Sharon Carter & Sam Wilson. I love all 4 of these characters, so reading a story explicitly abt them, and their journey after the events of Steve dying was so interesting.

Ed Brubaker, you have done it again! I really really enjoyed this story. This had everything I could have asked for. Amazing art, a fantastic story, and hoards of winterwidow. The entirety of this is focused on Bucky and Natasha as well as their relationship. I love them so much, and I was so glad we really got a closer look into their romance. That ending had me crying literal tears, I love them so much /:

I didn’t expect that love this as much as I did. This story follows Wanda Maximoff (the Scarlet Witch) in a 15 issue comic series with loosely connected stories in each. I loved this sm. I loved the way this gave Wanda very close ties to her roots, culture and heritage, I loved the introduction of Natalya Maximoff, I loved Agatha, I loved the vibes and I absolutely loved all the art. Each issue had a different art style, and it really made the story feel unique.

Everyone has been telling me for the longest time that Matt Fraction's Hawkeye is one of the best modern comics written. To me, this was a big feat to accomplish. However, I can safely say this statement is correct because this was fucking awesome. The MCU adaption is based off this comic and compared to Fraction's Hawkeye, that show is an absolute disgrace.

This comic goes into Clint's backstory, his childhood in the circus, him growing up with an alcoholic father, him and his rocky relationship with his brother, and the (lowkey fucked up) sense of humor he developed to cope with these things. It also shows Clint's ability to care, and his complicated relationships with his exes (which was very well done may I add). Comic Clint is so complex, and Fraction did such a fantastic job of showing an average man with not-so-great start trying to atone and live with the things he's done.

Kate was also fantastic in this as well! In the show, Kate and her mother have a complicated relationship, but it's actually her father in the comic (which worked very much better may I add). I also adored the plotline of Kate going on her own to the West Coast and trying to individualize herself, something I thought was very much needed from the beginning of the comic.

Kate and Clint's dynamic is also genuinely some of the best I've ever read. It's not exactly father-daughter, but it's not exactly best friends either. It's just that right in the middle aspect where there is a balance between the two. Even though Clint is a stubborn asshole (Kate's words, not mine) he loves Kate so very much, and will do just about anything for her. Kate also loves Clint despite his many faults, and she even says she'll follow him anywhere. They're so fun to read together, and so marginally different from the on-screen adaption.

I'm so glad I've finally read this. From the perfect representation to the awesome characterization and storyline, this has got to come close as one of my favorite comics of all time. If you're (for some reason) weary of picking Fraction's Hawkeye after watching the MCU adaption, don't be. This is 100 times better (as most comics usually are anyways) and gives an insight into Clint and Kate that the MCU will never be able to accomplish.

I'm gonna make something clear to y'all. I'm a fucking Star Wars whore. I've been watching these movies since I was about 4, and I've never gotten over my obsession with the Skywalker Saga, and the world itself. The movies always have made many fond memories for me and my family, including going to see the new sequels and Star Wars stories every Christmas, rewatching every Star Wars movie in May, and talking about memes and things in general. I loved this illustrated book version of the movies (does not include TROS but who likes that movie anyways it was fucking terrible). It actually thrilled me how I could still have the same feeling that I do watching the movies, while only reading the books. And yes, my baby ass cried when Anakin turned. (Ani is my favorite Star Wars character and deserved better
