I've always been a fan of The Phantom of the Opera musical. It's been a favorite of mine for years. I finally picked up this book to see how accurate the musical is, and I gotta say, Andrew Lloyd Webber and everyone involved did a pretty good job. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the mystery and horror elements of it.

I am a little confused though with Gaston Leroux's notes throughout the book as well as the epilogue. He says that Erik really existed and the entire book is true. I have no idea if he's being serious or not.

Overall, it was fantastic and I loved it. I will always be a fan of The Phantom of the Opera.

SPOILER AHEAD:
(Also Erik is ridiculous and I'm glad he dies. Literally no trauma he had as a child justifies anything that he did.)

I really liked this one. I wanted a little more in-person interaction between Savannah and Will but, I did enjoy it. The premise is so clever and I thought it was really well executed. This would be so cute made into a movie!!

Such an easy five stars. I loved this so much. I love Casey so much. I'm so happy her story ended happily. I was cheering for her the whole time and everything worked out. It gives me hope, also being mentally ill, that my life can be happy too. Such a beautiful book.

this has become my new favorite romance ever. idk how tessa bailey did it but wow. this book was fantastic. i related so much to hannah, so this is a love story i can see myself in. fox is just, wow. he's so hot and just wow. like literally no words. i love their dynamic. it's so sweet and pure and funny and ugh. i just love them. i want a love like theirs. definitely loved this one more than the first. i can see myself reading this again in the future. such an easy 5 stars.

This is better the second time around. I adore Dani. She is the moment. Zaf is....wow. Unreal. I love how he loves her. It makes me emotional. Also Sorcha and Kiran??? Wow. I laughed at them the most in the book. This was joy in a book. Talia Hibbert, I would do anything to read your shopping lists. Please.

I technically read this series out of order but it's fine cause now I've read all of them and I'm so happy I did. Don't ask me which is my favorite cause I can't choose. But this one was phenomenal. This one had me so emotional. I adore Esme. She is an amazing woman and I loved reading her story. I loved how she demanded the best from everyone, including Khai and wouldn't settle for less. She knew her worth and never settled and I truly admire her for that. And I loved how it was completely her. Her story wasn't sugarcoated. The realities of being an immigrant were shown in this book and at times it was hard to read because Esme was clearly struggling, but it was real. It was true. And I'm so glad it was in this book. Also, in all of Helen Hoang's books one of the main characters is autistic and I love it. The romance genre is clearly lacking with having autistic characters, especially in women, and I am SO GLAD Helen Hoang is doing it. I absolutely cannot wait to see what else this brilliant woman is writing. I will buy it without reading the synopsis, I am so serious. (Side note: Quan is the sweetest man and I love him. I love that he played a big role in this book.)

THIS. WAS. SO. GOOD. I loved every minute of it. Anna is such an amazing woman. I loved being inside her mind. I mourned with her, I celebrated with her, I simped for Quan with her. I'm so proud of her. I'm so proud of how her strory ends. This book was more than a romance. It was so heart wrenching at times but the happy moments filled me with joy as if I was experiencing it myself. I adored Quan. He adores Anna. The way he communicates with her, the way he treats her is so perfect. He was exactly what Anna needed and I'm so glad he stuck around and went through Anna's hard times with her. They just work so well together. Thank you Helen Hoang for this masterpiece. I would read your grocery lists.

again, fantastic...seriously this one is the best of the whole series. eve is so endearing and funny. jacob is so sweet to her...the whole thing is just so so good...talia hibbert...i love you.

quotes i love:

"Call me, she mouthed with an ostentatious wink.
'We don't even have your bloody contact details!' Jacob yelled after her.
'Darling,' she replied, 'if you wanted them so badly, you should've asked.'"

"More about people in general--about how her friends never liked her quite as much as she liked them. How they dropped her as soon as someone better came along, or pushed her to the edge of the circle when space was tight, or generally treated her as optional rather than vital."

"She scowled through the tug of guilt in her stomach.
'Holy ginger biscuit, Jacob Wayne, are you trying to make me crumble into a pile of sad and sandy regret?'
'Yes,' he said. 'It makes you awkward and babble-y and then you say things like holy ginger biscuit.'"

"He wanted inside her confetti-strewn head every chance he got. It was the only foreign country he could remember wanting to visit."

"She walked out from under the shade of an oak tree and it was like watching the sun rise."

"Now, he was the man Eve Brown would tell anything. Which felt like one of the top five most powerful positions in the world."

"There. There was his gold: Eve's smile."

Frog and Toad are gay you can't tell me otherwise.

i'm sorry to all of you that read these as soon as they were published cause that cliffhanger would make me murderous if i had to wait for the next book.

anyway...that was fantastic. i usually don't like dystopia type books. i read about 100 pages of shatter me (tahereh mafi) and i had to dnf it. but this one is excuted very well. the characters are interesting and well rounded. the plot is developing very nicely, and the writing is good too. i'm excited for mockingjay but it's probably gonna be painful isn't it? nvm don't tell me anything i'm not gonna find out... i've successful avoided hearing anything ab this series for years and i'm not gonna stop that now.
