I think this book is best for those who either are already lovers of both Star Wars and Shakespeare or are Star Wars fans who may be looking for an easier way to digest Shakespearean language. Everything is in perfect iambic pentameter (which dang!) and does a wonderful job at encapsulating the sense of Shakespeare through a modern work.

I’m giving it this rating because, objectively, it’s a fairly solid play, but the style of writing isn’t my favorite. The plot reminds me of Dear Evan Hansen but as a straight play and with more a dark-humor tonality to it. It’s also one of those plays where the story is written partially out of order to create suspense and questioning about the circumstances.

I personally really loved this play and it’s now one I would consider a favorite. The characters are very rich in their history and personality (although the only character who truly goes through a full character arc/shift is Catherine). And while the writing is very formal since they play is set in the 19th century, the themes and circumstances of the play, in my opinion, are timeless.

If you are a fan of the film The Princess Bride or are a film buff in some capacity, you are going to love this book is all I can say.

Super wholesome book and (I think) perfect for those who love the friends to lovers trope. I loved the storyline and the relationships between all of the characters. Started and finished the whole thing within 24 hours. Definitely has become a current top favorite.
