Thank you @wednesdaybooks @netgalley for a copy of When You Get a Chance. If you love broadway and Mama Mia, this will be for you. This was a cute coming of age story about Millie and her dream on making it on Broadway and her desire to find her mother.

Millie is interning along with her arc nemesis, Oliver, and lots of fun times ensue. Their interactions are fun with great banter.

All the supporting characters are great in the story and creates a fun read. The narration was perfect and brought Millie to life.

Thank you to the publisher and @netgalley for a copy of this historical fiction. This is the second book of the series and can be read as a stand alone. I did not read the first book and didn’t feel lost at all.

I enjoyed that the book focused on working mothers and their lack of support from the government during the war. All the main characters were likable. I enjoyed seeing the important role women played in WWII.

Thank you @readforeverpub and @netgalley for a copy of The Marvelous Monroe Girls. This was a cute small town women’s fiction about the Monroe Sisters. I always enjoyed family drama and would have liked more details on the stress of Margaret’s marriage which felt almost like a non existent side story. I was frustrated at times with all of the characters with their lack of communication. I enjoyed Gabby and Jake’s love story and wanted to see more of it.

Thank you to the publisher for a copy of the Hostage. This was a fast paced story about a historic flight from London to Sydney told in multiple POV. The story focuses on Mina, a flight attendant and her fractured marriage to Adam. The story is told with what is going on in the plane and flash back to Adam and Mina’s interactions.

There is a lot of topics going on and sometimes it felt like a little much. I also felt some of the passenger POV was added and was not necessary. Overall, it was an enjoyable read.

Thank you @berkleyromance for The Great Gatz. This is the perfect book for a dog lover. It was so fun to have it told by the perspective of the adorable Gatz, a beloved dog, owned by The Man and The Woman who are no longer together.

Gatz gets to meet the New Woman and New Man and all the adventures of dating. I love there’s so many cute doggie moments like his love for hors d’oeuvre.

Thank you @berkleyromance for a copy of The Roughest Draft. There so much to unpack from this book. I love that Katrina and Nathan are friends that wrote a book together and their relationship is so complicated. What I loved about this book is that the love story that has so many ups and downs with timing and communications. I am not a big fan of books involving people in relationships but I love how this book made Katrina and Nathan question themselves.

I find myself invested in both the present and past of Katrina and Nathan’s writing experience and loved their journey.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for a copy of the audiobook.

Hmm…what did I just read? I would not categorize this as romance or even rom com. Where do I start with this? Here are some of my issues with this book:
- Zoey - she is a strong female that focus on her career and thinks she is the cause of weddings that doesn’t happen because she is bad luck
- Ryland and Zoey’s actions. It just infuriated me what they did during the wedding in Ireland
- Ezra, this felt so unnecessary in the book.  We needed to see more of his interaction with Zoey for this development to be real
- the ending, how does someone love someone so much just moves on so quickly.

The narration was great but this book was just a train wreck weekend that the HEA did not feel believable.

Wow!! I expected a thriller but this was more a contemporary fiction. It was a great story that explores a lot of subjects like rape, fame and privileged and religion. The story follows Jonah a struggling screenwriter/waiter that is trying to find success. He meets Richard, a rich older gay screenwriter, and his life is changed. I didn’t expect for the book to be so dark but it was well written.

Thank you @readforeverpub for this fun memoir. This was written in a dear diary style with one secret diary and one that she hopes her husband is reading to spice up their sex life.

The stories are kind of wild and funny. It sort of freaks me out to read about some the things she did as a teenager.

If you are looking for a fun memoir with steam, this is the one for you.
