Wow!! Karin Slaughter does it again! This book is intense and covers so much...from how two sisters are impacted by a major traumatic event, to the pandemic to marital relationships.
This book is not for the faint of heart. There were so many difficult to read moments in the book. The narration on this book kept me interested and I devoured this one.

Thank you @macmillanaudio @netgalley for ALC of The Wedding Season. I would categorize this as women's fiction more than a rom com.
Freya is dumped the day before her wedding in a broom closet. The story is about her making it through 8 weddings. I love her friendship between Ruby and Leo and how supportive they were.
The book is lots of fun and the narration was great on this.

Thank you @macmillianaudio @netgalley for ALC of Starry-Eyed Love. I wasn't a huge fan of When Sparks Fly from a romance book perspective but really enjoyed the sister dynamics and was happy we got to see that in this book.
I love the theme of stars though out the book and remember making those puffy stars growing up. I enjoyed the dual POV and narration. The book was a little slow In parts but overall enjoyable.

Thank you @readforeverpub for a copy of this book. I devoured this audiobook in 1 day. This story was heartbreaking at times but also filled with hope. The story is told in POV of Henry, Sarah & Maple. The story shares the pains and struggles of being a slave living on a plantation as well as a poor Irish immigrant trying to make a life.
Inspired by the author's family's history, I loved the romance aspect of the book. I love how determined Henry was to be with Sarah.

Thank you @bookmarked for a copy of The Book Woman's Daughter. I highly recommend reading The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek to get a good background on Honey's mom and her amazing story.
This story focuses on Honey's survival as her parents are imprisoned and how she fights to law to be independent at the age of 16. This book is so well told about the book prejudice against her condition as well as working women.
I love Honey and her mule which had so much personality. I adore her friendship with Pearl and how they helped each other.

Wow!! What a great forbidden/ age gap romance. I love how Pike and Jordan met outside of their connection to Cole and their instant connection.
I enjoyed seeing how their relationship played out and the dual POV for Jordan and Pike. I liked seeing Pike's perspective as he struggles with his attraction and what the consequences were.
The steam between them was 🔥🔥.

Thank you @hachetteaudio @readforeverpub for a copy of Just the Two of Us. I enjoyed the premise of this story of an older couple (gasp! Because they are my age...LOL) and about the first few weeks of the lockdown.
This book was very real about a couple that has started living as mates rather than a married couple and the story flashes back to what led to that point. The story is told in Michael and Julie's POV and the narration was perfect for their stage in life.

This paranormal series is so fun! I read them out of order which was fine since they are all stand alone.
I love the slow Burn of the story and how sweet Mateo is. The conversations between Mateo & Alpha was so good!!

I read In My Dreams I Hold a Knife and loved it and was curious when I heard that Winstead is releasing a rom com. This was a fun enemies to lovers, second chance romance. All I can say is that I love Ben!! He as was so amazing.
This book gave us a little behind the scene into the world of life politics and how much work it takes to convince politician to be on your side. I love the campaign trips Lee and Ben went together and seeing their relationship rekindle.
