So good! Our heroes deal with the fallout from the Kejari, there is a lot of push and pull as they adapt to their new roles
I was ready for them to stop fighting & start f*cking
The ending was a bit of a frenzy but it all made perfect sense with what they had been building to
This story is a “duet” but I’m excited to read more from this world (&Mische’s story)
To set expectations: it’s more fantasy than romantasy, but the relationship is a key feature

Sunny is a gumiho (9 tailed fox spirit) who has fled the magical world of the Four Kingdoms &now living in present day Las Vegas. She is pursued by someone from her past & has no choice but to return.
It was slow &sweet to start, at about 65-70% it gets extremely chaotic. Emotions are erratic. There’s def some pacing issues but I would continue the series.
Friends to Lovers trope, with an ominous prophecy, &mix of Korean folktales.

Stunningggg. A great conclusion (?) to the trilogy.
Mysteries new & old collide. I love the wordplay with the deities (Fate worse than Death, Chaos descends).
The moody & elegant vibes are a major appeal but the characters &the main love story were glorious.

An interesting read detailing Victoria’s Secret’s  iconic moments -including positives (US size 12 models in the 90s during heroin chic, Heidi to Gisele to Gigi) &lows (regression away from inclusivity in the 2010s, ties to Epstein) &everything in between (fast fashion, PINK sweatsuits) &more.

The timeline meandered even within subsections which was distracting. This was best when it strayed from its founder Wexler &focussed on their impact on media &models

Published in 2013, a peak for dystopians with outbreaks &zombies. A genre standard is the Strong Female Character(tm) protagonist, but not here. Sal is recovering from an accident, suffering amnesia, her parents treat her like a child, she devolves into panic &can’t do much on her own. At times infuriating, but real. She quickly progresses as people turn sleepwalker from their genetic implants
Book 1 ends with questions as the conspiracy grows.

his was even steamier than the 1st, I don’t know that it’s a good thing, it bordered on “impossible for the human body” &the dirty talk (honest-girl/honest-guy thing?) was so cringe. Part of my dislike is likely that I find a lot of age-gap romances yucky, &while Sean Bell tried to give Zenny control -it’s impossible under the circumstances.
That being said I liked Sean’s character development, there were a few emotional scenes that humanized him

Soft pick. Very suspenseful, definitely kept me reading, but I don’t know that it will stand out in the long run.

Family drama, buried secrets, a missing girl, a cold case, a serial killer & local legend intersect.
The story is well told, more family/small town drama than mystery.

OBSESSED. This was SO good.
More High Fantasy than Romantasy (I expected the latter). It’s very driven by the trials, & action scenes. Weird vampire rules. But all very very compelling. Compulsively readable. Loved the MCs. (there is a romantic plot with lots of tension & a  bit of🌶️) excited to read on in the series
