I could not put this book down! (Luckily, I pre-emptively ordered all of the series). Fast-paced, political intrigue, slow-burn enemies to lovers. It's a contemporary/urban fantasy - the world building is not overly complicated. I really enjoyed the mix of real world and fantasy elements.

This book had really thorough and unique world building. The magic system was so whimsical. I loved the sister's relationships and witty banter they shared. Larkyra and Darius's relationship was delightful to read- A slow burn romance that was so sweet. Overall, this book and the world of the Mousai is utterly charming. I am excited for the next book and to see Niya's story unfold.

The only thing this novella did was remind me of the cruel double standards they set for Nesta in terms of her recovery after the traumas of the war. 😡😤

It was painful to see Feyre defend Elain's lack of progress to Lucien - "It has only been a few months.... But it might take her a bit longer to move past it."

And then turn around and say the exact opposite about Nesta when Amren suggests she give Nesta time and space to sort through her feelings. - "It's been months."

Rude.

Forever a Nesta stan 💙💙💙

Bruh. After this furious series reread- I am exhausted 😆😴

This was such an action packed conclusion to the initial trilogy.

I originally enjoyed this book more than ACOMAF but after the reread, I am sticking to my conclusion of ACOMAF being my fave of the series.

There are a couple moments throughout this book that just has me going "huh, this is very convenient". Like Feyre, right off the bat, toppling the Spring Court form within. My original read, I was like, yes. This is badass. But on the second go around, I was just finding myself thinking, like when did Feyre become a master of espionage in the 2 months she was away?

And speaking of the couple of months she was away, how did she suddenly master all of the high lords powers that quickly? She went from making cute little water animals in the bathtub to drowning people in the heat of battle.

Some other super convenient things:
-The Suriel. Don't know what to do? Find the Suriel. And for a singular being on the ENTIRETY of Prythian, Feyre sure could find it fairly easily.
-And Elain, who didn't do any training of her Seer powers, just closes her eyes and finds the Suriel on the first try. 😆

Obviously, I still really love this series. I am having so much fun finding little hints and clues to ANY potential connections to CC.

I love the set up for Nesta and Cassian ❤️
And honestly, I still can figure out why there is so much Nesta hate after this. 🤨🤨🤨

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A  glorious 5 star reread.

This book remains my favorite from this series. From the very start, everything you thought you knew was wrong and the second time around just allowed me to appreciate the little details that got us there.

Feyre's trauma and survivor's guilt were so heartbreaking in the beginning. I had forgotten just how deep her self hatred and hollowness went after the events Under the Mountain. Her views on eternity and her own immortality at the beginning and then again at the end were a beautiful portrayal of her growth throughout. ❤️

I remember reading Chap 54 for the first time and just being utterly blown away by the way SJM weaved in everything so intricately from the first book. Rereading it the second time, even knowing the results, I was STILL so swept up in the emotions 😭❤️ That moment will forever be one of my favorites from the entire series. I just don't think it can be topped.
