This was an absolutely SWEET romance and just what I was needing.
Chloe meets the housing requirements. Warren meets the income requirements. These two strangers are paired up in a foster care program in order for them to gain custody of their respective siblings. First impressions leave them feeling at complete odds but they slowly come to realize they have a lot more in common them originally believed.
I loved these characters and the sweet little family they became 🥹
CWs: - Foster care and adoption - Past parental neglect and abandonment - Past death of a parent (drug overdose) - Drug and alcohol consumption - Anxiety, PTSD, and Anger Management Issues - Medically fragile infant in NICU (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome) - References to Ableism

EXCUSE ME MS KENNEDY??!!? Because what is that ending!!!! 🫨
I have never been more grateful for waiting to read a book until I have the next one in my hand. DAMN.
This was such a roller coaster of angst and drama and passion 🫠❤️ I was on the fence during Part 1 but Parts 2 and 3 had me HOOKED.
Well, you know where I'll be (reading the second book immediately.)

It was fine but probably my least favorite from this series. Some of the spice was great but I'm not much into the "what would your father think?" game that they often played. Not my cup of tea.

What I want to know is... how am I supposed to move on from these characters, Harley?? I just... 😭❤️
Yeahhhh this is kink and spice HEAVY but honestly, it's not even about the spice. This is a story about acceptance, family, growth, and the understanding that love is so multifaceted.
I will never get over these characters and their journeys! ❤️
(There was really only ONE thing that I wish we had gotten a bit more resolution on for Jason but I also understand that life doesn't always work out that way.)

Becky Chambers just creates such thoughtful and charmingly flawed characters. You can't help but love every single one of them.
This is not some grand sci fi adventure. This is story following the motley crew of the Wayfarer, just living their day to day lives in little moments. There is humor and silliness. But also frustrations and arguments and learning and growth. A perfectly unperfect little found family.

Technically I'd give this around 4⭐ but I'm rating it 5⭐ for Elliot Page and to spite his shit ass father and that c.you.n.t, Linda.
God this was such a gut wrenching read sometimes. The things that Elliot has gone through in his personal and professional life had me angry and so so sad.
I really appreciate how he discusses his journey with his sexuality and his gender as separate and constantly evolving.
(Less important but still happy to hear that Michael Cera and Hugh Jackman are good people.)
My only issue technically is the organization of the story. I'm not sure the non-linear format was super successful. I found myself confused on where we were in the grand scheme of things.
Please check CWs before reading. - SA, eating disorders, mental health, body dysmorphia, homophobia, transphobia, surgical procedures...

If Talia writes it, I'm going to read it.
I seem to be going through the backlist before getting to her recent work but I absolutely loved this one! (Have not read the other books in this series though.)
MM Contemporary Romance
Age gap (10 years)
Small town (village) vibes
Opposites attract
Delightful banter
Depression rep and (as always) characters with healthy mindsets surrounding therapy and seeking help.
Griffin and Olu were so sweet and achingly romantic and I love them both fiercely.

How dare Harley Laroux make me THAT emotional in the last chapter!??
I adored this.
