New author alert. I really enjoyed this book it was short but i had me captivated. It is a short story so it jumped pretty much right into the drama. Which kept me wonder why this why that most of the book, but the drama held my interest. I liked the Christian representation, I will say it was a little heavy on the scriptures. I could have done with less scripture and more of the story line. one man reason i gave the book 3stars i felt like it should have come with content warnings. See below.

CW: Child molestation and sexual assault on page, mental illness

I know this is a prequel and novella but like what wait what??? It built you up to fall flat right when it was getting into the story. I have read short short books and they gave you a whole story want ting more. I am left just blinking like did what did I just read. I accidentally bought the series so we will see.

This was my first suspense/thriller book. I seen it was short and thought it would be a good book to see if I would like the genre. I am not sure I know what I feel for this book. I will say it had the thriller mystery aspect. In the 3 hours of the book it made you wonder who could it be, however it was really kinda predictable at the same time. What I didn't like which is what I thought I wasn't going to like is the back and forth and stupid things people do in thrillers. I loved the narration which is how I found the book I was going down the narrators catalog.

My overall rating 4.5. Loved the book. I gave it a 4 because if you follow her you have heard of a lot of her story. I was good to hear a lot of her back story. I gave the extra .5 because she read it and I loved the smoothness of her voice. I highly recommend listening to the audiobook, you get so much of her. Also I think she needs to read for every southern woman audiobook. Lol
