This was a really useful book to have for the first part of the Discover Mathematics module. A lot of the maths problems were broken down step-by-step and in good detail. As a student who isn't confident with maths, this book really improved my maths skills. This has, in turn, helped me with the computer programming side of my degree.

However, this book clearly needs a new edition. Some of the text relating to the course is out of date (e.g. all videos are now on the module page and no longer given on a DVD and some activities have changed from interactive apps to video demonstration). There are erratas that are shown on the module website but haven't been updated in a book. Considering this edition was published in 2014, I would think 6/7 years is a good time to update it.
