LOVED. The puzzle of Dietz’s experience of the war unfolds in this tightly paced impossible to put down novel, which grapples with the horrifying brutality of war, all the while threaded through with the hopeful fire of our wearied but tenacious protagonist. Following the complex plot of this novel made my brain hurt in the best way and was so rewarding. ⁣
