Persuasion by Jane Austen
4.0

Persuasion is a great example on the importance of revision. Austen died before she could revise Persuasion, and there are many moments where the plot is kind of lackluster. The characters, though, are the usual Austen ridiculousness which can carry you through the simplicity of the story. What truly carries the novel is the romance. If you have no desire to ever read Persuasion, I recommend at least looking Captain Wentworth's letter and reading it. It is truly one of the most marvelous and heart-wrenching pieces of romantic literature ever.
