Oh my God!!! This book hit me on the feels. When I picked it up I didn't know what it's all about. All I knew was that the MC is a nonverbal autistic girl who loveeeees space!!! And I love space too! When I saw it involves the Challenger space shuttle I knew it will be sad... Nova has gone through a lot just for being taken away from her mom (who I think either was deeply depressed or was possibly schizophrenic???), moves through 11 different foster homes in just seven years, misses her very best sister Bridget who was the only one who understood and cared for her. I kinda suspected the thing about Bridget but really??? So sad... I felt happy that Nova's new family is very loving and caring and actually treat her like a normal person. Her school wasn't very nice tho... I felt it when she described being sensory overwhelmed and the meltdowns, they were sooo real!!! I wish I could be Nova's friend, we're so alike! Get that girl to learn sign language tho!!! I was soo happy she made new friends! And Stephanie was so kind and precious! It was amazing and very heartwarming... I think this writer has a future!!!
