Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi
4.0

I'll start out by saying that I'm going to try and keep my emotions in check while I right this review.

Unravel Me was a pretty great sequel! It wasn't slow, or boring, like many 2nd books in a series tend to be. Instead, it was full of twists and shocking revelations!

This book focuses mainly on Juliette's ability to cope with what has happened and try to fit in at Omega Point. In the beginning I got a little nervous and annoyed because of how whiney and self pitying Juliette was being. She wasn't the same strong-willed and kick butt character as in Shatter Me. This was a little disappointing for me, but she redeemed herself later in the book. There were two other characters that really stood out to me as well: Kenji and Warner. I liked getting to see more of Kenji's serious side. One of my favorite parts of the book is a conversation between him and Juliette, where he basically tells her to stop feeling sorry for herself and do something. Since I was feeling the same way toward her, I was quite happy with Kenji in that scene. Moving on to Warner. In Shatter Me, there was absolutely no possibility that I could ever like Warner at all. But, Unravel Me completely turned me into a Warner-lover, I have to admit. The conversations that he and Juliette had tore me apart. I'm still not sure though, if I'm rooting for him and Juliette to be together, or if I just feel sorry for him and want him to have some kind of happiness.

Speaking of Warner, that brings me to the love triangle with Juliette, Adam, and Warner. Like I said before, previous to reading Unravel Me, I was team Adam all the way. But, I felt like Adam wasn't as big of a role in this book and that had me liking Warner more. But there's a huge revelation that involves Adam, actually make that two revelations. Still, he didn't show up enough for my liking. This brings me to the famous Chapter 62...

My feels were all over the place in that chapter. I was blushing and giggling to myself all through this chapter. But the end of the chapter!!!!!!!! I have to admit I was a little upset about what Juliette said! But yes, it does live up to its reputation. ;)

Lastly, I want to just say how much I love Tahereh Mafi's writing style! Her use of strikethroughs and line spacing really added something to the book for me, just like in Shatter Me.

Overall, Unravel Me didn't let me down, and lived up to my expectations!
