This was the story of two siblings who go missing, 14 years apart.
One disappeared from the area surrounding the family home. One went missing from the summer camp that the family owns.
It reads more mystery than thriller.
This book is not an “easy read”, it required me to really pay attention to keep track of all (6!) of the narrators, and the multiple timelines.
I do NOT recommend anyone try the audio version. I think it would be harder to keep track of everything. The beginning of each chapter lays out the time in which it takes place, which is nice in print.
This book touches on the roles of women in the 50’s through the 70’s. Without giving away my BIG feelings that don’t really apply to the plot, I will just say I felt uncomfortable and sad at times.
I appreciate that the end of the book left no questions unanswered.
