The stories that bring me to tears are the best ones of all. Paper Hearts is based on the true story of a group of Jewish girls during WWII. Zlatka defies the odds to make a paper heart to celebrate Fania's birthday. The story itself is powerful and needed to be told. The book is told from the perspective of these two girls as they try and survive the worst event in human history.
My first reaction on opening up the book was "great it's written in verse." But the way it was written it was made it so heartbreaking and brought me to tears. Truly worth a 5/5 rating!
