Flirting with the Enemy by Gia Stevens
4.0

"Never in my wildest dreams would I have expected the one woman who infuriated me on a daily basis would also be the one woman I don't want to spend a single day without."
enemies to lovers meets workplace romance meets spice. a snowstorm, a spider, and a conference-seth and parisa don't like each other... until they do.

i dont usually gravitate towards spicy books (which isn't to say i don't read them, but it's not something i specifically seek out), but I was given the opportunity to get an earc of this book and it was genuinely a good read. it wasn't wildly spicy, nor did I feel like the author just threw spice in for the sake of it. when there was spice, it furthered the story and it made sense for the characters.

i enjoyed the character development, specifically when parisa and seth realized that living to work was not what they wanted to do anymore, rather they should work to live. It's a very trope-y book, but it was also different, especially with the inclusion of the lilith house storyline. it was nice to see a family so focused on giving back to the community. it was also nice to see a business like the blue stone group giving back to the community (even if it was purely for a pr boost...) overall, it was a good read with spice, a lot of tropes, and some good holiday feelings perfect for thanksgiving.

((i was given an eARC of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. all thoughts are my own.))
