The Sharp Edge of a Snowflake
by Sif Sigmarsdóttir
This YA thriller had me gripped from the outset, it was a thrilling and thought-provoking read. The characters were well written and three dimensional, I cared about them both, as well as several of the ensemble characters too. I loved the story being set in Iceland and it is described so well that I felt I was there with them.
Told from two povs, with Hannah's mainly in the now, and Imogen's in the weeks leading up to their meeting, I felt that this was a clever and engaging way to tell both povs. I loved how their paths merged and how Hannah just wouldn't let go until she found out the truth. The social media aspect was interesting to read and I'm sure, like Imogen, we've all worried about our likes and engagement - nice to know it isnt just me!
A very well written and engaging nordic noir read, that really packs a punch, I'd highly recommend it.
