Loving an Ugly Beast
by Danielle Monsch
4 Stars
I love how this author turns a fairy tale. In this tale the ugly beast is a hardworking man and not a bewitched prince. He is a hard worker with a standoffish personality. Nissa is the local teacher. She loves Benton just the way he is. Benton wants to be someone Nissa could love. So he makes a deal with a fairy god-mother to become a beautiful man. The catch is he can never tell anyone who he once was. But the heart wants what the heart wants. And you shouldn’t have to be someone different to get what your heart desires. I love the twist this author puts on this tale, however once again the historical aspect is convoluted and the story tries to be more erotic when I think it should be sensual.
