King and the Dragonflies
by Kacen Callender
I am always amazed by everything Callender writes and this book was no different. This book was lyrical, examining what grief can do to a family and the different ways people cope with it. King is trying to do right by his brother, but doing so also means realizing that maybe his brother wasn't perfect. King is grieving, but also trying to figure out his sexuality.
The emotional journey is so well done in this book. This book will also allow so many kids to be seen. So worthy of the award it won!
