i loved the passion this book had about food.

i wish the story would have been written a little more like a novel and not in those tiny chapters that very often jump a bit not only in time but also in topics and make the entire book feel like tiny short stories combined to tell a whole story.

it’s not my personal preference and made it a little hard for me to love the book because it kept taking me out of the story.

but i understand that it’s a choice to write it like it has been written and it will and has worked for a lot of other reads. so it’s not really negative, more of a pointing out.

i loved emoni
i really liked how emoni didn’t let herself be pushed around by anybody and that she decided on her own path, but was still flexible enough about it to see when she needed to make changes.
it was nice to see that in an 18 year old character since it sadly doesn’t happen too often that an author actually makes young adults be responsible or actually derm capable of acting responsible even in difficult situations.
which i think is more often than not misrepresent because as this book shows a lot of young adults have to deal with a lot more than many older adults want to think about.

so it was really nice to see that.

i also loved the relationship between emoni and her grandmother and emoni and her daughter.
it was beautiful to read about those three generations together and making it work.

this book was great.
