I suppose we all have our own reasons and secrets, but we just killed for one another and hid one another's crimes. That's a kind of bloodship stronger than kin or clan. And I don't think that even a god king can stand against six people who'd kill and die for one another.

Five Broken Blades is a story about espionage, murder and politics. Five different people are hired and brought together to assassinate the god king. As they all work together to plan out this nearly impossible task they learn a lot about their pasts and what they truly desire out of life.

I was concerned when I first started this book that it would be very difficult to keep track of all the characters or that some of them would blend together but I was very pleasantly surprised to see so many diverse characters! Every character had their own personality, thoughts, flaws and desires without being overwhelming or becoming too lost in translation!

I was also really pleased with the plot of this book and how it developed! I did not see the twist at the end coming and I am excited to get the second book to see what happens next!
