sincerelydebi 's review for:
Gods of Jade and Shadow
by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
Trigger Warning: Violence, Domestic Abuse, Toxic Masculinity.
I truly enjoyed this book.
There were so many moving parts, that it made for a great journey.
There was a lot of character development, which I'm sure we all love to see as a means to growth and progress.
We mainly read about sibling rivalry, cousin rivalry (lol), and a lot of misplaced emotions on both ends.
Casiopea is living the Cinderella life, and is desperate for freedom.
Hun-Kamé is a death god who has been trapped for centuries, and is eager to get back to his throne.
Together they find a way to help each other, though the road is not as smooth as either of them would like it to be.
I throughly enjoyed the buddying romance and partnership that develops between these two characters.
...and the detailed description of what was actually happening to them.
I recommend if you like a good Mythology and exploration of a new world.
