While it's been awhile since I've read previous books where the characters were introduced, I vaguely remember Gabriel and Grace. I was super excited for this one and with those tropes I was even more excited but I hate to say this and based off some of the other reviews, this is a completely me thing, but this story is not for me. Now I love TL Swan and her writing but something about this one did not jibe with me. 

Ive read a lot of stories with a similar plot that I enjoyed buuuut this one just didn't sit well with me. As I was reading there were multiple cringe worthy parts that were an ick for me and once I have multiple icks with a book, its hard for me to get past that and it was just sooooo long. 

Gabriel is supposedly secretly sooooo in love with Grace but sleeps around with so many other women 🥴 now I love a good alpha hole and the whole grovel and redemption aspect but Gabriel was not it. There was very little difference for me from the beginning to the end. and don't get me started on Grace, while I get that she was hurt and had a valid reason to leave and yada yada, why did it take so long and where was her growth?? also don't get me started on the whole timing and pacing thing, at times it was so hard to keep up, one page would be one timeline and the next will be years and years later with no notice or anything.
