The ballet being so little on stage in this book is still a disappointment. Even the reason for it and the issue during and after with its leader was blah. Otherwise, this is really the first book where the sex outnumbers the rest of the plot. And no police or necromancy work. We get more glimpses of Marmee Noir and a bunch of new vampires and lyncanthropes. I had forgotten how interesting Auggie was. His character is the most modern of the vampires even though he is old. Honestly, I forgot all about the baby scare after reading this the first time. It was an interesting story dynamic. It put everyone of the well known characters in a new light. I loved Anita's by gynecologist btw. Reading Incubus Dreams I was trying to remember why we no longer like Ronnie. And now I remember. No lie Anita went through an emotional roller coaster in 3 days in this book. Lastly, I'll say I like the intro of the lions though not so much the local ones. They feel shoehorned in.
