I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I generally try to stay away from YA-esque novels... whether that's out of embarrassment or a genuine feeling of being 'past' that phase, I couldn't tell you. But this book was my selection for one of the past year's Amazon Prime First Reads (for the low price of $0.00, I ALWAYS take advantage of this monthly deal), and after a binge of thriller & horror books, I decided a lighter read could do me good.

Lo and behold, this was both the light read I was looking for AND a novel that fit right into my heavy-subject reading list. With themes ranging from summer romance to grief, Spoilereating disorders, self-harm, and suicide, I couldn't put this one down.

The characters were so engaging, and I loved every last one of 'em. I want MORE from this fictional world... I'll take the good, the bad, and the ugly that any successor of this story throws at me. Great book. So glad I read it!
