I really love the childish whimsy that comes from reading kid's lit that takes place in the summer. In those stories, it feels like anything can happen and the kids in this comic take advantage of that. I love how each kid has their own identity and story.

I wasn't really expecting the depth to some of the kid's background, going from identity issues, having a negligent parent, and being stuck in the middle of hostile family situations. It's great to see some realism, which gives these stories some extra weight.

There are just the right amount of cute and heart-wrenching moments.
