This is not an easy and fast read, it takes time to be hooked and it's quite slow paced but if you're patient you're in for a very good reading experience.
This is a mix of different genre: gothic novel, historical mystery, fiction and it's wonderfully written and well researched.
It's not a book for impressionable people as there's a lot of gore and blood and violence.
I loved the Ruth and Dorothea, how the plot was developed and the well researched historical background.
It's the first book I read by this author and it won't surely be the last.
Recommended!
Many thanks to the publisher and Edelweiss for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
