annarella 's review for:
Agent Running in the Field
by John le Carré
Coming out: It's my first Le Carre book and I was a bit in awe even if spy stories are not amongst my favourites. I'm still reading it but I couldn't wait to put down my impressions.
I didn't know what to expect by I got more than I bargained.
The style of writing is amazing, you cannot stop reading and loving how he writes.
There's a lot of humour and I loved how he can describe harsh situations in a very light way.
The cast of characters is amazing, well thought and fleshed out. You cannot help liking them and being amused by their games.
The plot is gripping, once you start you cannot put it down and I missed my bus station being engrossed in this novel.
It was a great and late discovery but I'm happy because I've got a lot of catch up.
An excellent read, highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Edelweiss for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
