Teach Me
by Neve Wilder
fast-paced
While I enjoyed it enough, this one just didn't live up to its potential unfortunately. And there was a LOT of potential! I mean - anonymous hook up turned forbidden professor/student romance. A 13 year age gap. Loads of angsty backstory for our MC, Cameron. Solid tension and jealousy on both sides?? Set up was stacked.
Loved the set up & premise but it fizzled in the 2nd half of the book. The resolution came too easy and was a little schmoopy. And I think it could have worked better if the story was a little longer and had more time to flesh out those moments that would have built up the tension. As it was, I felt like there was a lot of telling but no showing and we just kind of time jumped through the relationship.
So, overall, not my favorite.
But this series is fun & a little ridiculous and ultimately very sweet. I honestly think my favorite bits were when we get to see the progression of the big queer friend group being super supportive and loving of each other. (Loved the cuddle piles. Like just so cute.)
Will I ever learn what's up with Ansel? I'm so curious.
