The House on Biscayne Bay
by Chanel Cleeton
This book was full of vibrant descriptions of Miami in 1918 after WWI and when people with excess wealth are looking to build these absolutely ridiculous grand houses without knowing anything about the Miami weather, culture, or wildlife; and a lot of this continues into the early 1940s era when the 2nd POV takes place. If you like books where a place/house seems to become a character in it's own, then this one is for you! If you like The Hacienda, you will probably like this slower moving story that focuses more on atmosphere than action. For me, it was just a bit slow and predictable, but I think the probably is a problem with the marketing / my expectations.
The audiobook narrators are great for these dual POVs.
