A Million Junes by Emily Henry
2.0

I’m giving this a 2.5 rating. *some spoilers*

I struggled with this book. I believe she can write beautifully at times. She does well with connecting grief to a long term actions and behaviors. The dangers of holding grudges and un-forgiveness.

I don’t think this genre of book is for me. I felt it dragged a lot. Unnecessary situations thrown in that had nothing to do with the story or helped the story.

Unfolding of the family history was a decent twist… then I felt deflated once it wrapped up. I asked myself out loud, “that’s it?”

Initially, I felt the water connection was cool but fell flat later.

The white feather, memory ordeal annoyed the hell out of me. Collecting the shoes didn’t seem to have a purpose in the end.

The connecting with the animals… cool and then…. That’s it? It just felt like a tease over all…

The house is magical, no forest, no the family bloodlines, no the love, no the water, no it’s blah blah…. Dude pick one. Oh wait, it’s all of them
