Goodbye, Grandpa by Mack Gageldonk, Jelleke Rijken
1.0

I always try not to be rude when a review a book but sometime it seem like people are trying really hard to push me there. First, this book as very sketchy drawing, there not ugly, in fact kind of cool minimalist style, but very very basic, like kid's drawing. My problem really start here. I loved children book who talks about the death of a loved one, because I think it's a very important part of life, and it can be hard to talk about it with kid, so the book are there to help. This book doesn't help at all. It go on the subject in a really strange way in so many points (the young one find the dead body of his grand-father, he stay with the death body during mostly all the story, the bury it with the nose and feet out, etc.) and at the end, the characters go back to their thing, like anything happen. All that in a afternoon... So the story, in my opinion, is very wrong and doesn't aboard death in a go way at all. Last point, I don't usually comment on book price, but this one will be sell at 18$ us. It's a good amount of money for a book, and way too much for a book who clearly not wroth any of it.

Sometimes author and editor should take a step back and ask themself is it really worth publishing!
