The Flash, Vol. 10: Force Quest
by Joshua Williamson, Minkyu Jung, Rafa Sandoval, Christian Duce
2.5 out of 5 stars
The new character, Fuerza, is a welcome addition to the cast and I’m happy to see Barry and Iris visit other fictional places around the world, but the new Forces are still lacking the level of lore and definition that the Speed Force does even though though exploring these new powers are the whole focus of the book. Part of that is intentional, as we discover former Speed Force users purposefully destroyed evidence these power sources existed, but it also feels like Williamson routinely runs out of time to submit something other than rough drafts and sloppy melodrama.
Speaking of which, Barry continues to have these inner monologues that are super mopey and out of character. It’s gotten to the point where I actively avoid thought bubbles when reading these Flash book so I can have a better experience. I can’t wait to be done with this series and move on to something else.
