I was so pleasantly surprised by this book! It's going on my list of all time favourites, with hopes to use in classrooms for sure.

I picked it up with the intention of having some more lighthearted fun books in my repertoire since I have a tendency to go for very deep and metaphorical reads which I know not all children enjoy... but what I ended up reading was the perfect mix.

This book handles a lot of deep topics: death, illness, grief, anger, mental health, bullying, belief... But it is balanced with some amazing real world 'monster hunting' that will grip any child.

In short, it is an beautifully written story of new friends, family reunions, and learning to overcome adversity and be at peace with big feelings, whilst simultaneously paving the way for cryptozoological discovery on the scientific field and making history!
