There’s Pumpkin About You by Athena Carstairs is the definition of a cozy fall romance! I absolutely adored it. It’s sweet, charming, full of autumn vibes, and the perfect book to curl up with on a crisp day with a warm drink in hand.

The story follows Wren, an ambitious party planner, and Gus, a grumpy pumpkin farmer with a heart of gold. Wren visits Gus’s farm while planning her best friend’s fall birthday bash, and what starts as a business arrangement slowly turns into something deeper. Their slow burn romance is full of warmth, heart, and just the right amount of banter.

What really stood out to me was how beautifully Gus was written. He’s autistic, and the book handles his character with so much care and thoughtfulness. The way the small town misunderstands him felt heartbreakingly real, but seeing Wren take the time to understand him, support him, and just see him for who he is was incredibly moving. I loved how their relationship developed gently over time, with Gus stepping outside of his comfort zone simply because he cares for Wren.

Gus and Wren are both layered and lovable, and their story felt grounded and genuine. It’s not just about falling in love; it’s about growth, patience, and showing up for someone even when it’s not easy.

This book hit all the right notes for me. The pumpkin farm setting? Perfectly atmospheric. The storyline? Addicting. The characters? Unforgettable. I’ll definitely be rereading this one every fall and it’s officially on my annual cozy season must read list!
