I liked Wind over Pinball. I am never sure what I am going to read with Murakami. While I am reading I have moments of clarity and understanding and then once I think I am following his logic, I become confused and lost but I still continue on because I am intrigued. However, you can tell this is the beginning of Murakami brilliance but the writing is juvenile and the women as they were written were secondary characters with no personality - perhaps on purpose, but nevertheless annoying.
